Are you planning on building a wall on top of the engineered floor or just plan to place something heavy there ? diable rouge Posted November 20, 2018 Share Posted November 20, 2018 As long as the plywood is nailed/screwed to the joists properly, it will provide all the 'load-bearing' you need for furniture/people walking about etc. Eng wood flooring is just a finish and doesn't have a 'load-bearing' capacity. It's inherent 'strength' is that it's not supposed to move, warp, split, crack etc like normal floorboards can. Junckers, a leading manufacturer, make most of their boards 14mm thick...
