Thanks Dulwich Fox. ?I saw a cash only? sign even I walked past and the tables looked laid up so looking forward to a biryani

They're doing a soft opening while they get back up and running, so I believe they're not broadcasting they're open at the moment but will do so in good time. We popped in Friday night and the refit looks brilliant. Everyone was smiling and it felt v good to have them back on the Lane!

Went Thursday evening. Glad they are back.

They now have a bench along the wall on the right and new chairs. More comfortable but the bar and serving hatch are in the same place. The main change we noticed was its cash only which they told us when we called to book so not an issue.

The owner is still out the front but the other staff were new. We asked and the same chef is in the kitchen so food quality as good as it was.

We had one of our regular dishes - lamb biryani - and it was how we remember.

Pretty much as busy as we remember but we?d called earlier in the evening to book. There appeared to be a table for two for walkins at 8pm on a Thursday

Read the title of this thread and reflect rather than taking your usual unnecessarily aggressive stance. I will be going in due course however always wonder why a business doesn't help itself by keeping up with updates and encouraging customers to visit rather than rely on posters on here.

Plus I'm sure they've had a lot on their plate (no pun intended) just being up and running again as a buisiness.

Glad their back and thats all that matters ultimately

    • I don't know how it works now but my late parents had little money when they were retired (just state pension and they rented their flat) and they used to take their cat to the Blue Cross (In Victoria if I remember correctly) where treatment was free for those who could'nt afford a private vet. I sincerely hope similar is available still because for many elderly their pet is their main source of comfort and company.
    • In a couple of places locally, I have come across this. I am fairly sure that they attempt to do the bill in their head. If you just say , “no, I think it’s x” they start again and get to an agreeable number, or find a calculator. I don’t think it’s a malicious attempt to swindle people. Just not great arithmetic.
    • There are excellent charities like the Greenwich Wildlife Network who will help if you report any concerns with local wildlife. Foxes are wonderful creatures who had been forced into our town and cities and are just doing their best to survive, we should take care of them when we can.
    • Like I thought… prob like that for most of the day.. especially after people had walked their dogs, with friends, relatives  kids…
