Hey Hal, nope, I am on medication which requires regular testing of my liver and kidney functions.

So far so good!

Wait time around 45 mins to an hour. I find the end of day better, between 3-4pm. Or you can try Kings at 7.30am, I have also gone to Kings at this time and was out within 20 minutes. Hope this helps.

xxxxxxx

When I was looking up the opening hours before going for my blood test, I noticed that Kings place restrictions on who can go to their department when, and if you turn up on the wrong day they say you will be sent away.

See here!

Here's an extract:

The Phlebotomy Department provides blood tests on a walk-in basis. We carry out a wide range of tests including testing for lipids, cholesterol, triglycerides, gut hormones, fasting blood sugar, malaria and drug monitoring. The department is based on two sites: King?s main site, where we see mainly patients who are referred by the hospital; and Dulwich Community Hospital, where we see patients referred by their GP.

Patients referred by King?s College Hospital

Please attend the Phlebotomy Department, King?s College Hospital, Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.45pm.

Patients referred by their GP

The Phlebotomy Department operates a satellite unit at Dulwich Community Hospital providing a blood test service primarily for GP patients. The unit operates Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.45pm.

GP patients may attend the Phlebotomy Department, King?s College Hospital for tests only on Tuesdays, 12.30 to 4.45pm, and Fridays, 7.30am to 12.30pm. GP patients attending King's Phlebotomy Department outside these hours will not be seen except for those with specialised tests (see below).

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
