Not sure if anyone can help - I don't really want to waste GP's time with this as its not an illness.

I was just wondering if anyone has any idea of the best creams to use/ointments etc to prevent scarring.

My son received a nasty and deep scratch on his face at nursery in early December and though its faded and healed the mark on his cheek is still there and doesn't seem to want to go. I wouldn't mind if it was somewhere else but his face is different.

Any tips much appreciated as am sure this will not be the last time i'll need to use it :-S

He may not like this because it does smell but Elisabeth Arden eight hour cream is really good. My grandmother used to put it on my sister's face when she had scars from chicken pox as a baby.

Also there is a cream developed by plastic surgeons (the late Martin Kelly and others) to aid the scarring process called Heal, you can order it online.

I used body shop vitamin E body butter when I was pregnant, didn't stop me getting stretch marks but you certainly can't see them now. And when I burnt my leg accidently setting the school on fire I used wheatgerm oil, which also seemed to work. Have no scientific basis for either though.

    • Yes, we have a Casio CT-S100 we no longer need, except I dont think we have the headphones any more. It has a USB connection. £50? https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7333639
    • Thank you! She is both spayed and microchipped, and reported missing on Petlog and with the vets.   She normally never goes out the front, certainly for never more than 10-15 minutes, so this is definitely new territory for her. There is lots of dense foliage across the road so there are plenty of places she could be hiding if she is spooked, so we are hoping she will come back when she is calm. The weather isn't helping, she never goes out in the rain. Thank you again!
    • Hi, Have you been letting her out the front door onto the street or would this be a first & therefore unfamiliar with the area? Does she respond to a name & is she spayed & microchipped? Our team carry scanners on our daily routes & will of course be looking our for her. I hope you are reunited with her soon. If not already, notify your street & surrounding streets (find out if they have Whatsapp groups) Dox will print & deliver free missing posters https://www.doxdirect.com/help/free-missing-pet-posters/ Call her at dusk & dawn when street & foot traffic is at its lowest.
