English Tuition - KS3, GCSE, A level

My name is Cath and I am a fully qualified English/English Literature teacher with 15 years experience teaching KS3, GCSE and A level English and English Literature in London secondary schools. I have some spaces available from January 2019 for private tuition either during or outside the school day.

I am passionate about my subject and have significant experience supporting students in meeting and exceeding their targets in 1:1, small group and whole class settings. I adopt a highly personalised, creative approach to my work with young people whether they need some support with revision strategies in the run up to GCSE or A level exams; are feeling that they need some extra support with key areas of literacy or extended writing; or would like some further stretch and challenge to build on their core learning at school. I am happy to work with students individually or in pairs/small groups of peers if your child wanted to study with a friend.

I believe that all students can achieve with the right support and I would be keen to liaise with your child's school if that would help so that we can ensure a fully joined up approach.

I charge between ?35-60 per hour depending on the number of students/sessions and their key stage.

Please do get in touch if you'd like to talk more about how best to support your child.

Many thanks

Cath

    • Ah that was it.... When you realise politicians are only ever in it for themselves then everything starts to make sense.
    • Yup. Student politics. https://bright-green.org/2012/04/09/democracy-and-direct-action-an-interview-with-edinburgh-universitys-new-student-president-james-mcash/
    • I wonder whether his political epiphany and renaissance will stretch to him using his real name - James Ashworth-McLintock - rather than the more proletarian 'McAsh'. To my mind, the only people who should have self-bestowed mononyms are very talented Brazilian footballers - Pele, Kaka, Ronaldinho - very talented female pop icons - Madonna, Shakira, Sonia - or Russian revolutionaries - Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky. Sonia's greatest hits compilation, 'Greatest Hits', is out now on vinyl & CD through PWL Recordings.
    • Probably more helpful to ask simply whether McCash was affiliated with the Greens before becoming a Labour councillor. Trying to explain your thought process and unravel your fevered imagination (particularly when it comes to local politica) is the kind of thing that might require several years of psychoanalysis.
