Adding banana to flapjacks has transformed flapjack baking into an exercise in scraping inadvertent granola out of the cooker to a foolproof joy. It works best if you lightly score it once it's cooked, then return it to the oven (switched off) overnight.

You can reduce the oil in this one and up the number of bananas if you want to be a bit healthier....

    • I have a single glazed bay window in my kitchen. All my other windows (including a separate window in my kitchen)  are double glazed. I had a quote to fit double glazing to the bay. It was extremely high and I wasn't willing to pay such a lot for a room I don't spend a vast amount of time in. Has anybody had secondary glazing fitted to a back bay window, and if so was it successful and did it look ok from the inside? And what sort of price can I expect to pay?
    • ditto - the lack of respect the organisers / council have for the impact on the wildlife and damage to the park is the reason I protest the Gala on its current site. The noise is secondary
    • Not sure about that - I'm personally not too bothered by the noise, despite living possibly the closest to the site. I am bothered by the impact on all the wildlife, as should hopefully everyone with a conscience and who care about their community?
    • Their coffee and food is delicious. Really nicely decorated cafe with a nice vibe and a great selection of books too. The owner and staff are all very friendly and happy to chat when preparing your order.
