Louie2015
Are you or can you recommend any local ballet schools or classes for a 3 year old. Preferably with longevity and the opportunity to sit exams in the future. NannyAdelle
Highly recommend Miss Ari?s classes http://www.eosdance.co.ukOne of her ballerinas passed the exam for the royal school of ballet in the summer. She?s amazing Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/213039-looking-for-ballet-classes/#findComment-1301710 Share on other sites
louise.flynn
Definitely South London Dance Studios. My 3 year old adores her class - they do have lots of fun but it also follows a clear structure that sets her up for future learning (and the exam system). Digbina
I?m very happy with Theatre Peckham. Their ballet department is very strong and they have a ballet company in residence (Ballet Soul). They offer ISTD exams. The studios are new and purpose built. There?s a lot of emphasis on good technique, stretching and mastery of the basics. Also very important (to me, at least) they are inclusive and welcoming of all body shapes, abilities and needs. Another thing I like is the absence of pink! Titian
https://thesouthlondonschoolofballet.comMy daughters have been going here for more than ten years. Miss Megan the pricipal has been teaching them almost from the very beginning. Think she must only have been about twenty one when she started teaching as she is still only in her thirties. Classes take place predominantly within Harris Girls shcool at the top of Peckham Rye park on Tuesdays/Fridays and Satrudays depending on grade. she does exams and a show every couple of years. Great fun. My eldest has a distinction at grade 8 and she does graded and vocational for the really talented kids. she has had ones go on to white lodge but she is also catering for all shapes and sixes and makes it really great fun. My kids have made freidnships at three that they still have now and small group of them have been doing ballet together for thirteen years!
