ED_moots
We've received a note from parcelforce that a package is awaiting payment of customs duty before it can be delivered. I checked the tracking number to see if it is genuine, it is. Tracking confirmed it came from Melbourne, Australia - bit of a coincidence. We're not expecting anything and don't intend to pay the customs fee. Please pm me if you think its yours and we can arrange for the customs note to be sent to you. ianr
> Tracking confirmed it came from Melbourne, Australia - bit of a coincidence. If it's not a coincidence I'd suspect it was due to a PF employee absent-mindedly misentering the street name on your invoice. Is the postcode yours? Have you in any case given them the chance to check and to rectify any error?I'd also be very wary of giving any third party apparent title to the package, unless, just perhaps, absolutely convinced that is was meant for them. Far safer to leave the responsibility and risk clearly with PF. IlonaM
Will PF confirm the name of the sender? Just in case it is from a long-lost relative/friend.Otherwise I agree with ianr to put the responsibility back onto PF. ED_moots
Yes, address is correct but addressee is 'unknown' so it does seem like a system error of some sort. I suppose that means it could be for anyone. Haven't called PF yet but if they reveal the sender I'll use that info to vet whomever claims its theirs. ianr
If the postcode's correct I'd check with all your neighbours with the same postcode.
