Hello!

We are Nunhead Women?s Institute and we?re currebtly accepting new members for 2019!

Our WI has just entered its 4th year and we?re really proud of the wonderful community we?ve built over the years. We meet on the 3rd Monday of every month, upstairs at the Old Nun?s Head pub. Each meeting we welcome a new speaker or teacher who helps us learn or discover a new skill (or sometimes, to remind us that we?re not quite as ?jam and Jerusalem? as we like to think we are!).

Activities have ranged from felting, burlesque dancing and cake decorating, to life drawing and cocktail making. That?s not forgetting the slice of cake / glass of wine...

Monday the 21st Jan will be our first meeting of 2019, and we?ve planned a gentle one to ease us into the New Year!

We're being joined by Laura 'kiranjot' Jones, a Nunhead based yoga teacher who will lead us through a relaxing yoga session. All positions will be seated or standing, so there is no need to bring a mat as there won?t be any floor work. Do come along wearing comfortable clothes and shoes.

If you?d like to join our fantastic group, just drop us an email at [email protected].

Monday 21st Jan. Upstairs at the Old Nun?s Head, 8-10pm.

Thanks.

    • Staff have changed and owner now taking a more active role….she is such a nice+lady so I encourage you to try again . I am all for supporting local business and personally very glad after appalling service earlier this year Gail’s has closed.. Change of staff and chefs were unreal.. In one month alone must have had at least 4 new chefs plus god knows how many waiters/ waitresses.. when Ai saw that happening, new it was gonna be down hill all the way.

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
