Web app development skills are fun to learn and to create functional apps or games. In this two hour workshop, we will discover how different technologies come together to present or 'serve' the everyday apps we use.

We will:

a) create a small functioning web app, using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.

b) find the enormous libraries of resources and tools available freely online

c) find out how we can take our learning forward to produce more complicated apps.

We will also discuss next steps, building a portfolio, career prospects and the specialisms associated with this growing and exciting field.

I am charging ?15 for this workshop to cover the cost of hiring the space and resource materials.

Please bring a laptop to take home your learning materials, or if you do not have one, please contact me.

Hello all!

Here's a shout out for the 'Introductory Web App Dev Coding Workshop' on the 04th of February, covering the fundamental building blocks of programming for the web, to build Web/Mobile Apps and websites.

We will cover a basic introduction to HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, and create a simple web app at the end of the workshop. This will be a fun, informal way to take your first steps towards becoming a web developer, and is aimed at participants who have little or no prior programming knowledge.

This workshop will form the base for further learning, including data manipulation, building complex functional apps and network management workshops in the future.

Anyone can learn to code! Please bring your own laptop to be able to take away learning documents. If you do not have a laptop, please get in touch and I can arrange for one.

I am charging a fee of ?15, this fee covers a book worth ?8.99 and room rent.

Please sign up today, as places are limited.

Please note that if you're bringing your own laptop to the workshop on the 4th of February, I will require you to please download a source code editor. This normally is a very simple process, but if not, I can help you on the day of the workshop.

For Windows:

The best free source code editor would be Notepad++

Visit: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/

and download the latest version.

For macs:

My recommendation for best free source code editor would be VS Code

Visit: https://code.visualstudio.com/download

and download the version from the Mac blue button.

We need a source code editor to write code and to make coding easier by using a built-in feature called intelliSense. IntelliSense gives us helpful code hints and autocompletes code when required. All this will be explained when you come in on the 04th.

Look forward to seeing you then, please let me know if you have any queries or to sign up, please contact me.

    • Miss Robson is the last of the old school independent vets. All the chains are have seriously hiked their prices over the last few years which now makes pet ownership only possible for the wealthy few. Even with pet insurance -( which often excludes items or has ‘deductibles’ ) it is just so much money. A visit with some medication is often £150 - £200. The vets themselves are excellent.
    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
    • Dawson Heights again  2 lifts out of order at ladlands block Christmas Eve so of course the 🛗 will not be repaired tomorrow Christmas Day or Boxing Day or when how do elderly or mothers with children and prams and food and presents get to the floors and with the 10 minutes you get to drop off  to park and not get a Pcn fine and delivery food to relatives who can’t leave their house unbelievable Southern housing does any know email address of Coe of southern housing
    • Sorry but I think it's best if people just check things for themselves when they buy things. In three shops/restaurants (from some years back) I just avoid the places concerned, as in all three  cases I was pretty sure it wasn't a genuine mistake, and in one place  it happened more than once and usually late at night.
