The Flat

A lovely split-level apartment, within a converted pub in a great location - just off the Old Kent Road.

The spacious accommodation in brief comprises; hallway, breakfast kitchen with table and freestanding fridge freezer, generous lounge (filled with plants) and a large bathroom with separate shower and roll top bath. Downstairs, there are two good sized double bedrooms. The apartment further benefits from gas central heating, is fully double glazed and has a telephone entry system. There is direct access to a communal garden, a corner of which we?ve filled with plants.

Utilities are very inexpensive and the flat is very warm and homely. The building consists of seven apartments and has a very safe, community feel.

The landlord is private and really lovely.

Viewing is essential to appreciate the place properly.

The Room

Cosy double room with double bed, wardrobe, rug, mirror, bedside table and bookshelf.

Location

Located just 2 minutes to the nearest bus stop with direct buses to London Bridge, Old Street, Oxford Street and Covent Garden, all in less than 30 minutes, and Deptford, Greenwich and beyond in the opposite direction in even less time. 15 minutes to Elephant & Castle or 8 minute walk to Queens Road Peckham Overground station. Peckham Rye is a 10-15 minute walk.

Would provide incredibly easy commute for those working in the City, Canary Wharf and London Bridge.

There are no parking restrictions currently outside the apartment building.

Situation

We are Steph and Vicky. Vicky will be going on a six month sabbatical, so we?re looking for a Vicky-replacement for this time (March until September).

Steph is 31 and works for planning consultancy. She enjoys socialising with friends, exhibitions, travelling and sometimes makes it to the gym. She?s a terrible cook but is keen to get better! We are looking to find an easy going young professional to fill the room who is sociable but equally not a complete party animal. If you're green-fingered, that's a bonus, as Vicky would like her plants taken care of whilst she's away!

    • Dog kennel isn't a great name for a school. I agree that it's ridiculous for the name to put anyone off going there, but don't see any issue with them rebranding if the parents and children prefer a new name. The school is surrounded by historical 'groves' (reflected in the names of Camberwell Grove, Grove park and Grove Vale for example), so it's not a totally random name.
    • It might help if there are body cams to record evidence and a presence maybe a deterrent but I very much doubt a park warden would intervene with obnoxious and violent thugs - children or not. We need police for that.
    • I had a leaky toilet cistern and Niko came out the same day and not only fixed the leak but thoroughly cleaned off the years of calcium build-up. His attention to detail was matched by his kind humanity. The result was a completely renovated toilet which has never worked more efficiently as well as 'service with a smile'. MANY THANKS NIKO!!!
    • I am trying to find out about people's experiences of the 4+ and 7+ assessments. I am a teacher and have a wealth of experience tutoring for theses assessments (including my own son), but it's always good to keep on top of things as they always make tweaks to them. TIA!
