TV Aerial specialist needed

Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a TV aerial person?

We've just moved into a house that is overrun with cables from old satellite dishes, NTL box(now virgin) etc and just want to get rid of them! But not being an expert in whats what, we are loath to try and remove of them ourselves in case we cause some issues.

Also we have a cable hanging down our chimney with no ending on it that we think must be from an external aerial.

Looking for someone to come over and have a look, remove the old caballing and fit us with a standard external TV aerial.

Any recommendations appreciated!

Thanks,

Anna

Just wanted to recommend Aerial Services who are based in Vauxhall.

Dave came out to me this morning and did the work on the spot and is was very reasonable.

You can contact them on 0207 582 8888.

I'd definitely use them again if I needed any niggly TV stuff doing.

Another recommendation for Aerial Services Ltd.

I am having new, bespoke, timber windows fitted in a top floor, Victorian conversation flat and needed to move the cable for the aerial which, until now, has come in through a hole in the bottom of the window frame itself. I expect this is a common issue in flats converted in the early 90s. I have the same issue with the phone/broadband cable.

I called Aerial Services yesterday and they arranged to send someone out this morning.

Dave suggested that I could run new cabling around, and up the side of, the house so that it could come in immediately behind my TV (avoiding untidy cabling running round the skirting board in my living room).

The team was friendly, courteous and even hoovered up afterwards. The job was completed in under two hours.

I've never posted on the forum before but I was so impressed by Aerial Services that I wanted to recognise their professionalism. Dave has been working in the industry for over 30 years so I suspect there is not much he hasn't seen or cannot fix.

    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertises times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
    • Adapted not forced.  As have numerous species around the world.  Sort of thing that Attenborough features.  Domestic dogs another good example - hung around communities for food and then we become the leader of the pack.  Not sure how long it will take foxes to domesticate, but some will be well on their way.    Raccoons also on the way https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1j8j48e5z2o
    • My memory, admittedly not very reliable these days, places the shop on the block on the left hand side just before Burgess Park going towards Camberwell. Have also found a reference to Franklins Antiques being located at 157 Camberwell Road which is on that block. This is a screen shot obtained from Google maps of that address which accords with my memory except the entrance door was on the right hand side, where the grey door is, rather than in the centre.
