Hi all,

Our daughter loves swimming and is currently doing Waterbabies. The good is that she has no fear of the water but she will actually dive in without an adult now despite not actually knowing how to swim! Its making me nervous so I'd like to speed up her swimming progress. Waterbabies is fine but it doesn't feel like the group lessons are aiming to actually get them swimming independently yet.

Has anyone done the Parent and Toddler swimming lessons at JAGS? Would you say that your toddlers were able to swim by the end of them?

TIA

Our son did them (mostly with my heroic husband) on Saturday mornings from when he was just over 2 and he could swim by the time he was 3. Admittedly mostly underwater with his mouth open like a whale but his style refined quite quickly! Not all the kids could, but ours was keen!

    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
