I used wet wipes for about 6 years before realising that most were made out of plastic (i.e. polyester!) and will take 200 years to biodegrade. Most end up in London?s landfills (which will be full by 2026) and 1 in 3 gets flushed down the toilet ending up in our rivers and beaches? or forming 93% of London?s fatbergs.


Please join us in stitching messages into baby-wipes and sending them to our MP?s and supermarkets asking for action on plastic wipes.


All resources and toys for any children (but just be aware there will be needles and scissors around!) will be provided. All welcome! You don?t need to know how to stitch, and the more hand-made the message the better! I can teach you some stitches and it?s really easy. All you need is a willingness to stitch messages for the environment.

*We're using pre-consumer waste wipes, off cuts from a wipes factory which were going to be thrown away. Plus they didn't have any moisture on them, so it's a firmer surface. No actual wipes were purchased in this project!

Here are our recommendations… Vet - The Neighbourhood Vet (Lordship Lane) They’re always lovely, no matter which vet you see - and have helped us with all sorts of issues Groomers - We’ve been going to Marta for years. She’s brilliant. Our dog used to find grooming really stressful until we found Marta.
