has anyone else got concerns about the speedmark football sponsorship sessions ..we have been given fundraising forms from bessemer grange but guess this company is elsewhere...fifty per cent of all sponsorship money raised is going to the company for inflatable footballs, medals etc etc...the profit to date is more than two million...so one million plus to the company, who are completely unaccountable.

has anyone else got concerns or information..it seems terrible to me?

It does sound strange. I'd expect a charge for any event and perhaps an additional cost per participant. But 50% of sponsorship sounds strange as it's an unknown amount. I haven't heard of the company but I'll certainly be looking for more info on them if they raise their head in our school /PTA!

They came to a school I used to work in and told us that a famous football player was coming to run the day. The kids were most disappointed that he had been mildly famous in the early eighties and wasn't anyone they had ever heard of.

The 50% of the sponsorship money going to the company is a rip off and the event itself is a let down. It's a shame schools are still being conned into taking part. A sponsored beat the goalie that we organised ourselves went down much better and all the sponsorship money went to the school.

    • I can't answer your question. But on them generally: it's changed hands in the last year or so, I think. I paid £35 for interior and exterior and they did a crap job. I'll go to the one on Herne Hill (or just do it myself if health allows) next time.
    • Aria came round to fix my tub drain when I'd messed up the seal. Came within hours, fixed the tub, and ran a bath to make sure it was okay. Here's where the fun starts. While he was over, I asked him questions about the rest of the plumbing round the house. I had just moved into a Victorian home that was previously being rented. Unsurprisingly, we found another leak in the tub and a drip in the kitchen tap.  He came back the next day to put a better pipe in my bathtub and replace the kitchen sink. Painstakingly figured out how to replace the hard-to-access kitchen sink without cutting through the wood panel with the help of his builder friend, Mark. Answered all my questions and clearly knew his stuff. All this right before Christmas holidays!
    • Was that the one where you put a coin in and it squirted water at you? what was the name of the one in hanway street - whatever you ordered it came on a segmented tray like you get in prison (I imagine). Prices were a steal.
