Hi,

Hoping to get some advice on taking RLT when trying for a VBAC, is it safe, dosage etc. Lots of threads on the internet but no definitive answers, asked the midwife and she was also unsure but advised it was ok to take in moderation (i'm nearly 33 weeks).

Did any of you ladies who have tried/trying for a VBAC have any info on this as trying to do all I can to prepare (although still swing from wanting a VBAC to elective on a daily basis!)

Many thanks in advance

I did some research on this, as I used to work for a tea company that sold raspberry leaf tea. The only evidence that I could find for it causing any problems for anyone was done about 40 years ago and was on rats, where they injected the raspberry leaf tea..... I personally didn't rate the study, and think that you would be completely fine to drink it, and as much as you want (can manage!).

    • I think there's a lot in what you say. Although bi election results aren't usually indicative of GE results, I was horrified to see Reform support was so high in what had previously been a Labour stronghold, Labour and Conservative results reflecting the tired old parties they are.  It isn't our generation (sorry @Sue if I'm being presumptuous!) that will decide the outcome of elections but those in their 20s, 30s, 40s ... if they can be bothered to vote. The Greens and Reform now present a real choice instead of two centrist main parties of the last 30 years which has put people off voting. Perhaps locally I will continue to vote Labour, i really couldn't bear for the LibDems to return and we have to consider the demographic of the whole of Southwark. But come the GE I will probably vote Green.
    • I agree but in the case of McAsh, that would just have left his constituents without a councillor for 3 months until the May elections. MPs switching parties is really galling. If an MP is suspended for law breaking etc., then a recall petition can be issued and, if enough of the constituents support it, a by-election is called. I think the same should apply for defectors.
