A fabulous large antique African mask. It is a beautiful quality ethnographic piece, wonderful vintage patina to the wood. Hand-carved (you can see the tooling marks on the interior). It pretty heavy so I would imagine it was meant to be a decorative piece. Lovely carving to the mask with triangular patterns decorating the centre and beading to the top. Measures 91cm in length - approx 3ft and 31cm (12") at the widest point. ?65 ONO It is an excellent example of African hand carving, it's a great quality piece.
