Ah, OK, I hadn't realised it had such limited opening hours.

I was confused when I saw online this afternoon that it wasn't open till Tuesday morning! So I thought it must be closed on Mondays. Serves me right for making assumptions.

Not that I'll be going. I went to the one in Walthamstow some years back. Afraid I left most of mine. One of my friends was so sickened by the smell she had to go and wait outside the shop :(

Well Manzes was established 117 years ago in 1902..

Their customers range across all ages.. Kids, Adults, Football pre match trough, Suited and Booted City types.

But as you have said yourself on more than one occasion "Horses for Courses"

I used to love pie & mash. I lived 5 minutes away from Arments for a number of years.

Double, double with burnt tops. Add some white pepper and the spicy vinegar, so delicious. Specially if you?re in the throws of a hangover from the night before.

But sadly, I get the worst crippling indigestion if I eat it now. So it?s a thing of the past for me, along with cucumber, and red or green peppers. It?s weird how as you get older, the things you can and can?t eat change.

As for eels, not my favourite, but I do eat them in china town sometimes.

Ah, fond memories of those day at Armements.

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
