Allotment waste disposal

Sue

Recommended Posts

Our allotment site has an assortment of rubbish to dispose of.

Southwark recycling centre won't take it because it isn't household waste.

We don't want to hire a skip because of the cost.

Does anybody know of a reliable (wo)man and van who would take it to some other appropriate council site? I'm assuming this needs a licence?

We obviously don't want it just dumped somewhere illegally.

Thanks.

Googling Southwark Allotment Waste points to Devon Street Depot.

If you cant put in your Brown Bin ?? How would they know where it had come from? Your garden ?

If you bag it up and take it to Devon Street and have proof of your address, I cannot see the problem

It is rubbish from the whole of our allotment site, not just my plot. There is a lot of it (hence the reference to a skip in my original post).

It is not brown bin waste. It is rubbish. Brown bin waste would almost all be composted by individual plotholders on site, unless it was diseased.

Our secretary has made enquiries, being honest about the situation as we all agreed she should be, and Devon Street will not take it.
