free bike maintenance with hands-on tuition April 16th

Recommended Posts

The guys from our outdoor Dr Bikes are keen to pass on their knowledge. There generally isn't time at the evening sessions under Peckham Arch and on Quietway 1, so they have set up these slower paced indoor sessions to show and teach at the same time.

The evenings (6.30-8.30pm) are a joint venture between the Lettsom Tenants and Residents Association and Southwark Cyclists. The Lettsom TRA provide the hall and we provide the manpower. The hall is slightly tricky to find. The best verbal description I can give is up the hill from the shops on Vestry Road, down an alley and look around.

The full address is 114 Vestry Road SE5 8PQ. I can't attach a picture here but there's one on our website at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/events/bike-maintenance-with-hands-on-tuition-2/. Pictures are good so I've attached a couple of the guys running the workshop. Bruno won't be wearing his dark glasses indoors.

It's all free, cheerful and open to everyone. Southwark Cyclists is the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign. The LCC campaigns for more safer and fun cycling in London. This is part of our contribution to that great cause.

    • Useful link, thanks. I see that neither of the Dulwich Hill councillors are standing again but one of the new Labour candidates for DH recently left the Lib Dems… The Greens are led by someone who left the Lib Dems and full of people who left Labour. Reform is full of those who left the Tories. And the Tories are full of those who left our planet some time ago. Confused? You will be!
    • I'm sorry to learn that though Liam does seems well qualified. Hopefully with McAsh gone, Southwark Labour will turn to Charlie to fill the gap.
    • As I understand it Charlie Smith did put himself forward for selection in GG but Labour members chose someone else to represent them, Liam McGrath https://southwarklabour.com/our-candidates/   It'll be interesting to see if there are other defections - surely the Greens want a drip, drip, drip of news from now to May suggesting the momentum is with them.
    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
