Comedy at the Old Nun's Head in support of Ramadan - 8th May

Recommended Posts

In less than 2 weeks away now, we are hosting a new comedy night in The Old Nun's Head. Pick N Mix Comedy is about picking a different theme each month and having some fun.

Our first show is starting alongside with Ramadan, so we thought it would be great choice and all our comedians will be from Muslim backgrounds. We have a great line up of competition winners and people already performing with TV names.

Come join us for a great night of comedy

Here's a little bit of info on all the acts performing on the 8th:

Fatiha El-Ghorri was recently touring with Tez Ilyas for Comedy Takeover with Human Appeal, and has also performed recently with Russell Howard and Omid Djalili.

Mustafa Fecto was a runner-up in this year's Laughing Horse New Act Finalist.

Mamoun Elagab was a finalist in the BBC New Comedian Awards in 2018

Mo Omar was the winner of Leicester Square New Act Competition 2017 and was part of Comedy Central's Comedy Festival in Southampton last year.

Sadia Azmat's currently runs the popular podcast 'No Country for Young Women'

'A very funny and promising new comedian' - Mark Lawson, BBC

Mo Saffaf was a Max Turner Finalist in 2016 and is a part of this year's AAA Stand-Up show in Edinburgh, which has been a sold out show since 2005

Less than one week away!

The comedy will take place in a separate venue upstairs away from the bar area, and the Old Nun's Head will be providing food from their Wednesday night pop-up, The Flygerians. All their meat is halal and there are veggie and vegan options too, if you're looking for the perfect place for breaking fast.

    • You can get a card at the till, though, to get the discount. You don't have to carry it with you (or load it onto your phone), you can just get a different card each time. Not sure what happens if they notice 🤣
    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • This sounds great 👍
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
