I am a trustee of a local charity which provides a Child Contact Centre. One of our centre workers is leaving next month and we wish to hire a replacement.

Child Contact Centres are places where non resident parents may see their child in a supervised setting. The centre operates on a Saturday throughout the year (bar Easter and Christmas).

We are looking for someone who is reliable, can communicate well with both children and adults. Good observational and reporting skills (both oral and written ).

Situation would be ideal for students of child psychology, social work, counselling, teaching, nursing and other related disciplines i.e family therapy/family support workers. We are also interested in retired or semi retired social and health care professionals.

DBS checks are essential for this position and references will be required.

Please reply via PM giving contact details and a brief CV. I will then pass all enquiries to the CEO of the charity who will make contact to seek further information.

    • Anyone can deliver for Evri - my daughter having just passed her driving test tried Evri to make some money - they basically give you a route and as many parcels as they think you can cope with - you make money for each one you deliver, so you can imagine - speed is the priority. Why would they wait for you to answer the door when they can just throw it and take a photo? If you have a choice, choose a different courier service or shop elsewhere where they do.
    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
