Offering to share our fantastic nanny in HH / DH and beyond

Recommended Posts

We are looking to share our fantastic nanny, while she is continuing to provide after school care for our two daughters.

- some point after July

- highly experienced

- we live in DH/HH area and would be happy to consider any share within a reasonable reach (currently with Crystal Palace)

ABOUT HER

She has over 20 years experience (last 4 years with us) working as a nanny covering newborns up til teenage hood. The relationships she has with children are fantastic, she is very natural and truly enjoys spending time with them.

Her easy and playful approach ensures that she is loved but respected by children, while she is keen to ensure routines are put in place to form stability and predictability.

She combines her emotional maturity with a deep understanding and reflected respect of the special position she fills within any family. This ensures she handles any situation with practical consideration and thoughtfulness and with great mutual respect.

SET UP

Until now she has been looking after twins who are now 2.5 years old during the day and then picks up our daughters from school to look after them until we return home.

The twins are due to start nursery, so she will be looking to fill these additional hours.

We are fairly flexible as our daughters(7 and 11) are now more independent. Until now she has taken them to school and picked them up thereafter. During school holidays we found that between family holidays and grandparents etc we only required her to have them for 2-4 weeks for a full day, during which they would always beg to go and see 'the twins' to help and look after them.

We are happy to host the share fully, but understand that you may also want her to spend time in your house. It would be important to us that she would be able to be in our home for our eldest to return home from school to.

PRACTICALITIES

She is Ofsted registered, drives her own car and is fully insured. We are currently acting as her employer (handling tax, pension etc.) so you would not need to worry about this aspect of it though I would be obviously happy to share our accumulated knowledge of it all if you prefer. She prepares meals, loves taking them to the park and generally being creative with them.

You would need to negotiate the financial side with her, but it would be a generally accepted nannyshare rate.

If you are interested to learn more and discuss further details please let me know and I look forward to speak to you and introduce you.

    • David Attenborough has also done programmes on this amazing relationship.  This is from 2010 but I am sure that there were more recent programmes on the Beeb https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p006ry61 Mummy trees are amazing.
    • Have you considered PIV - positive input ventilation. We retro fitted a Soler & Palau super quiet in-line fan system. This takes cool air from the outside ans is ducted into the loft. It is really quiet and very efficient. It is controlled by a reverse thermostat ie one which shuts the system off when the temperature drops to a set level. We are very pleased with it especially as it costs a fraction of a/c and provides greater flexibility in terms of location of vents and ducting.
    • If you’re into nature or just love trees, this lovely program is worth catching up on https://www.channel5.com/show/the-secret-life-of-trees It’s one of those quietly fascinating watches that leave you thinking about the world a bit differently. I had no idea that trees are connected underground by fungal networks. They use them to share nutrients, water, and even to send signals to each other. They can recognise their kind and give more support to their “relatives” than to other trees nearby. They can also remember things like droughts or pest attacks and change how they respond in the future. No wonder so many cultures and spiritual traditions view trees as sacred. In some belief systems, cutting one down is thought to carry serious karmic consequences. When you learn about how they live, communicate, and support one another, it makes sense. The natural world is far more aware and interconnected than we tend to realise.
    • I installed an all-in-one air conditioning unit at my holiday home since I wasn’t allowed to have an external fan unit outside. It actually works just as well, was easier to fit, and although it’s slightly noisier, it’s a good solution overall. https://www.orionairsales.co.uk/all-in-one-air-conditioning-142-c.asp?srsltid=AfmBOopZSVZj1_utAO-Hr4m5M323nRZru6Zmf1YuT4KP2touJ2OLaruU
