I've got the chaos book katgod mentioned and I haven't kept up with its recommendations, alas. But one tip I found very useful is to do a 15 min blitz in each room. I know this sounds a bit bonkers but I have actually used a kitchen timer - do as much as you can in 15 mins then move onto the next room for another 15 mins. It's amazing what you can do in that time if you really go for it. My house is still covered in stuff from top to bottom though.
What can say Liz I was only today talking to my better half about that. As you know I also work from home. I am such a paper hoarder. When I visit other peoples home they are so colour coordinated and in order. At the beginning of Easter holiday I was in one of those had enough of the mess, so announced after breakfast that we were having a good tidy up day, to which my 6 year old son replies that's a rarity.

Verona, I've been having one of those days today and managed to do the kids' room and the living room. Did the living room after bedtime so my name will be mud tomorrow as I've put all the lego away - oh dear, they are going to go mental. It will all be back out by midday.

Yes, paperwork is a pain plus all the course manuals that I hoard.

It is going to be our bedroom tomorrow plus a trip to the tip.

Gonna feel so good afterwards though.

Thanks for all the tips everyone. I've enjoyed reading this and realising that I am not alone. 15 mins per day per room sounds good. I feel good now that I have recliamed some surfaces today. If someone was to send me flowers I'd have somewhere to put them now!

    • Hello.   Thanks Nigel and Hparker 😀   I've got new slots available for new students looking for a piano teacher or guitar teacher.   You could start in the new term beginning September, or I'm also available adhoc-styles through the summer holidays at times.   I teach all ages, in most styles, in lots of different ways according to how you learn/like to learn.   Give me a call or text on 07730 402336.   I have connections to lots of performance opportunities/networks too.   I run regular events /student concerts, and play in bands/perform.   Natalie.
    • So do I, but I think they are in trouble as well.  Anyway, that space wouldn't be big enough.
    • I'm not talking about Starmer. I was responding to a post which  said that  Corbyn was unelectable. How people voted in the "more hotly contested election" is irrelevant. Corbyn wasn't leading the Labour Party then. Starmer was. And the turnout for Labour reflects that.
