Sue
I was updating the Goose website tonight but when I checked the site, none of the pages would refresh. On investigating, I found that all my html files have turned into Opera web documents - which I've never heard of before.I think what happened is that some message came up asking me to allow Opera, and I assumed it was something to do with the Opera browser, which I sometimes use.Can anybody help? How can I turn them back into html again?I use Coffee Cup html editor.ETA: The pages seem to be refreshing now, but I'm still totally bemused.ETA: I've had an answer from the Coffee Cup helpline which sort of helps, but I still don't understand what has happened ...... Jeremy
Could it be that on installing Opera, you agreed to allow it to associate all HTML files with Opera?Google how to change file associations for your version of Windows. Sue
No idea, Jeremy. I certainly must have done something. The Coffee Cup people have told me how to change the file associations, but as the pages are refreshing OK now there isn't any immediate hurry. But thanks!ETA: I suppose it would be too much to hope for that if I uninstalled Opera it would automatically change the file associations??? DulwichFox
Basically.. If Opera is the default Browser .html icons will appear as Opera. just means file will open with Opera. Likewise with Firefox, Explorer, Safari... Should not affect page refreshing. DulwichFox
Evidently It's a bug. If you are using When a request for the main FRAMESET file gets a 304 Not Modified response, Opera will not re-load the frames inside. If it happens againTry right-click, " Reload " instead.or make Explorer or Firefox your Default Browser.Foxy Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22859-help-all-my-html-files-have-turned-into-opera-web-documents/#findComment-536326 Share on other sites
Sue
I have never set Opera to be my default browser.I use Firefox. Nothing usually opens in Opera. I don't know what was causing the refreshing problem, but it sorted itself somehow. I just panicked too soon :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22859-help-all-my-html-files-have-turned-into-opera-web-documents/#findComment-536346 Share on other sites
