I have 2 african pygmy hedgehogs (fancy hedgehogs)as family pets they live in my house and I know of 2 other families in east dulwich that have these hedgehogs as pets as well, these are not the hedgehogs that live in the wild these I had to go to a breed to get them.

There have always been hordes of hedgehogs at Honor Oak Rec and quite a few around Peckham Rye. The time to see them is after dark and after it has been raining, when they come out to slurp up worms. I once saw a whole line of them trundling across the Rec, looked like they were doing a police sweep.

Haven't seen a hedghog in our area for many years now. My son loves them though so will look into how we can make the garden more accomodating!
