MrTwirly and I popped over there this afternoon, thought we were going to miss it as we didn't get there till 4.30, but it was still open (and the sun came out!) and the sign said it was open till 5. It's a lovely spot. I shall be interested to see it develop even further. Particularly impressed by the dragonfly bench, beautiful.

One thing, with the gates open, any dogs not the leash are free to wander in. Probably a bit late now, but gates that you have to open or close to get in might have been a better idea to keep free-range pooches out.

The 'Chair' of FOPRP has spoken to the Park Manager regarding the early closing of the the garden. Hopefully, this will resolve the recent problem.

On another note, the garden's monthly maintenance programme will take place this sunday 6/5/12. The garden will be closed to the public. Volunteers very welcome, meet at 2pm at the garden.

In years to come, we might found out who - or which countries - has an interest in testing what happens when you post socially disruptive content online about fake events... In the meantime, thank you to our local teachers and other school workers, police community support officers and police officers. My commute happens to take me past a bunch of schools at dropoff/pickup times, and I noticed a much greater and more visible presence on streets outside/near schools than normal. Annoying as it must have been to be distracted from other important duties, I really value and appreciate them looking out for the kids. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/school-wars-trend-red-blue-london-police-latest-142328025.html https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/jan/01/birmingham-new-year-fireworks-display-centenary-square-police
