Hi everyone, an important APPEAL: We need to raise ?2,000 towards the legal aid we?ve secured to take Lambeth council to task on their role in enabling Cherry Tree?s impending closure. We have set up a Justgiving page and it?d be amazing if everyone could share this the groups they alerted about our petition and encourage donations. If everyone who signed were to give ?1-2 we would smash the target in no time. Suggested email/WhatsApp intro:

Many of you wonderfully signed our petition back in April to save Cherry Tree Children?s Centre and Nursery. Unfortunately Lambeth Council and the Trust operating Cherry Tree have not been responsive to our relentless campaign, leaving us no choice than to bring a legal challenge to the council. We have been awarded legal aid but have to fundraise ?2,000 towards initial legal fees. Please help us and donate what you can. No amount is too small and if 1,000 people gave ?2 (less than the price of a cup of coffee) we would reach our target in no time!

Please do consider giving if you oppose the closure of vital childcare facilities and want to help us fight for maintaining a wonderful resource for children and families now and in the future. Thank you! To give: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/cherry-tree-action-group

    • Although this sounds worrying, a "bitey" fox is unusual. I see foxes all the time where I live near Rye Lane and have never experienced this. I've even seen a fox sitting in the garden where an outdoor cat lives, whilst the cat was there - the cat was fine and is still alive. I think my flat is on a fox path because I hear and see them most nights, none of the local cats seem bothered by them. I can't help but wonder what would make the fox act in such a way, I've just read that toxoplasmosis might make them more aggressive
    • Purse with cash and cards (including photo card) found in road local to East Dulwich Tabernacle. It will be here (107 Barry Road) all day (Sunday 21 December) if you want to collect or PM me.  In case some one else who knows R Howard, please alert her.    Thank you
    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
