I have just got a Phil and Teds double buggy, Vibe, and I need to take my 2 boys out tomorrow which will involve a trip on a bus and a stint on the East London Line. The East London Line I am not worried about because I know there is step free access at both stations I am using. I am mostly worried about the bus.

I have never taken more than an umbrella fold stroller on the bus, I am quite nervous about it because the phil and teds feels like a tractor in comparison.

Are there ant tips, which door to use etc?

My boys are 3 months and 2 year 10months. Unfortunately for my own health reasons a sling is out for the baby I am afraid, it would have been my preferred option :(

Don't worry - I regularly take my side by side mountain buggy on the bus - I go ask to get on the back door with it. My single mountain buggy is pretty much the same size as a p&t and that's fine too - get in front or back. There's still room for 2 buggies with either.
I take my P&T on the bus sometimes. It's fine. There are a few awkward bus routes that have an annoyingly placed pole that makes it impossible to get through to the buggy bit. Sorry not explaining very well, sleep deprived! Anyway on those you need to get on the back, from memory it's the 63. Never had any problems though.
Thanks everyone. I made my trip out today, I was only slightly stressed, I also had the worry of my son potty training with lots of accidents at the moment. I did it so I will be less scared next time, but I can't wait till the older one is walking more and the younger one can go in a macalren :)

    • Changing subject, slightly.. what is taking over from what was cheese shop.. ? Next to other parade of shops.. which is on Dulwich Parade .. near bookshop, estate agent and closed for failing health and safety.. fined as well.. please god, not another place selling food.. opposite Court Lane..
    • what type of car was it, if they are in demand, might be helpful info.
    • Which has, unfortunately, closed. Au Ciel is much better than Gail's. Big bakery in the parade of shops near Rocca in Dulwich Village with all the seats outside - you can't miss it. Normally a big queue outside at weekends with walkers and cyclists topping up on carbs and coffee!
    • Hi, just to say there was an attempted car theft at the FH end of Underhill over Friday night. Without wanting to go into all the detail, they were pretty adamant and took a great deal of time to (try) take the car. The police came within minutes, and drove around etc.. The police said the car was in demand at the moment. I don’t know if that was brand or model. notwithstanding what the police said, all car owners should be vigilant and neighbours. These thieves were interrupted twice by neighbours, but the thieves came back etc and the neighbours didn’t put 2+2 together as to what was happening to the car. The thieves were two guys, on the cctv it looked like they were wearing grey, but it may have been black (cctv can look odd at night). My neighbours said they were black. They had a bag with them, no doubt carrying tools and they may have been dropped off by a car, that is being investigated.  Take care!!
