Hand painted wooden trunk 'High heel Hurricane'- want to trace history of it

Recommended Posts

My friend got this hand painted wooden trunk from an antiques shop but the owner didn't know anything about the history of it (assuming it IS old) We love the title 'High Heel Hurricane' /Eyeful and the kitschy drawing of the girl on the top of it. It opens at the side and is about 1.5 m long. We wondered if it was used for a stage show or something.Havve tried searching online but can't find anything like it.

Just thought someone on the forum might have an idea?

Looks like Eyeful was an American pin up mag in the 40s. Some of the pictures in the links below may be (mildly) not safe for work.

    • I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Yousef and his team for my recent house move in East Dulwich. Downsizing and relocating  my stuff from a house to a flat was made a calm and pleasant experience. The move included large and heavy items of furniture, taking items apart and reassembling in the new place, as well as loads of boxes. Nothing was too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend this service, you will not be disappointed!
