Dr Bike under Peckham Arch August 8th 5.30-7.30pm

Recommended Posts

Just that really. Southwark Cyclists volunteers plus one professional mechanic will be fixing bikes and giving wise advice to everyone who wants it. It's all free, even the wise advice which is invaluable.

They will all be under Peckham Arch (see pic) which is at the north end of Rye Lane where it crosses Peckham High Street towards the Pulse and the Library. The forecast (right now) is hot with a bit of cloud cover which is good cycling weather. There are no ID tests or interrogation. Everyone is welcome, particularly children.

Southwark Cyclists is a branch of the London Cycling Campaign which campaigns for safer and more plentiful cycling in London. Our website is here: https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk. Their website is there: https://lcc.org.uk/?ref=nav

Everything we do is free and open to all. Contact us on [email protected], tweet @southwarkcycle or text me on 07842 640 207. I may not know but I can probably find out.

    • As I understand it Charlie Smith did put himself forward for selection in GG but Labour members chose someone else to represent them, Liam McGrath https://southwarklabour.com/our-candidates/   It'll be interesting to see if there are other defections - surely the Greens want a drip, drip, drip of news from now to May suggesting the momentum is with them.
    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
