JSD123
Good morning, quite like this book case, sorry to be a pain but could you describe the fixings or the way it is fixed onto the wall. Regards Emma Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/233652-vintage-bookcase-sold/#findComment-1360256 Share on other sites
RNStJ
Hello Emma,The bookcase was originally fitted in an alcove, i.e. between a chimney breast and an outside wall. It was supported by battens screwed into the walls below. The old Leicestershire house in question had to be pulled down due to mining subsidence! Since then it has been used atop another piece of furniture which I also have for sale on this site (photo attached).Or it could be used free standing with an L bracket on top to attach it to the wall. You are welcome to come and see it. I can be in any time today at 118 Oglander Road SE15 4DB (0208 693 7757 or 07484833022).Best wishes,Roger Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/233652-vintage-bookcase-sold/#findComment-1360270 Share on other sites
JSD123
Good morning Roger, thank you for the email and the very descriptive content, some journey she has had. I may well make use of them both in fact, clearly they fit and work together? What would be the best you can do for the two if I had them collected in the next day or so? Regards and thanks again, Emma Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/233652-vintage-bookcase-sold/#findComment-1360289 Share on other sites
RNStJ
Hello Emma, I'm afraid that since you first wrote I had a flurry of interest and someone came around straight away and snapped it up. I'm very sorry about that. I do still have the bureau/ cabinet that I would knock down to ?30 for you but I guess it was really the bookcase you wanted.Apologies,Roger Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/233652-vintage-bookcase-sold/#findComment-1360305 Share on other sites
