Matthew's team came to redo the outside of my house (front and back) a month or so ago. We had wooden sashes painted, all masonry work painted and a little bit of rendering and pointing where needed. Very pleased with the results, his guys worked quickly and to high standards.

I would like to recommend Matthew and his team, who stepped in late in the day to help me out to do some decoration on a commercial project in SE1, which had it's own particular hurdles to get through! Matthew worked hard to achieve good results, and I was impressed with his wallpapering too, which wasn't easy to do! Matthew was conscientious and gave a fair price and myself, and the client, are very happy with the finish.

Another recommendation for Matthew and his team.

Matthew leads a great team of efficient tradesman.

From our initial phone call Matthew went over and above our expectations and used his experience to make suggestions for our project.

Our project was very last minute on a short time scale and the team went out of there way to complete the project on time to a high standard.

My go-to for future decorating and building projects.

Very reasonably priced.

Matthew's team re-decorated our entire house last year after they had completed a kitchen extension for us. Their painting and wallpapering skills are fantastic - and we asked them to put some very tricky patterned wallpaper in a very small space which I know is a nightmare to deal with. The guys are really lovely and friendly which is very important when they in your house for a long'ish period of time. I would recommend them.

We just had Matthew`s team paint the inside of our house. The quality of their work was excellent...and the team came on time every day and were very courteous.

I would highly recommend him and his team.

PM me for if you are making a decision over whether to go with Matthew or Handy Andy and would like to hear from someone who has had work done by both.

Mathew and his team are truly impressive; speedy and efficient in assessing the work to be done; flexible and innovative in the solutions they come up with - coping with the vagaries of an old building - ancient plaster and absence of any right angles; and sensitive to health and environmental issues in choosing paints and materials appropriate to our specific needs. When painting the decorators' prep was of a very very high standard, as was the quality of the finish. The carpentry was a revelation, not just as to the excellent workmanship, but also the planning and solutions found as to how best to use space to maximise the storeage we sought. Electrical work was similarly approached in a helpful manner and capably undertaken with minimum disruption. I am very happy with all the work undertaken - interior and exterior decoration, shelf and wardrobe building, and new wiring - and have no hesitation in recommending Mathew to anyone seeking building or decorating undertaken to a high standard in a pleasant and agreeable manner.

These guys are the best!

Matthew put me in touch with his colleague Andras who then oversaw all the work on my house. Andras and all of his team work so hard, get all the work done really quickly and efficiently and to a really high quality, and are super nice as well! I always feel totally safe and comfortable when any of Andras' guys are around. My step mum (a home owner in Edinburgh) came to stay while I was having the house painted and she said she couldn't believe how great they all were and could she take them home with her. Most of my interior decorating was done by Gabor, who is just amazing. I get in touch with these guys for everything building/decorating related now. Can't recommend them enough!

Hi all

I'd like to add a recommendation for Matthew Hansen and his team. We have used Matthew's team for two projects - a bathroom refurbishment and external painting works. Both jobs were reasonably priced and good quality. Matthew is straightforward to deal with. We would recommend his work.

We've just had Matthew and his team in to paint two rooms inside our house as well as sand/oil a wooden floor. The work was completed quickly and to a great standard. The team did not comprise on quality and yet were still able to deliver to a tight deadline. Overall we are very pleased with the finish, the team were very friendly and did a fantastic job!

Matthew is very easy to deal with and I will certainly be using him again in the future.

I also highly recommend Matthew for any painting or decorating work. We have used Matthew's team for a range of projects inside our flat over the last 2 years, from building a loft conversion to painting and decorating various rooms. Every time, the team are polite, trustworthy, efficient and have excellent work ethic. Last week, one of Matthew?s team, Gojko, did a magnificent job painting and restoring our fireplace and surrounding mantel/hearth. The work was completed as scheduled and to a very high standard. Will definitely use Matthew in the future.

I would recommend Matt Hanson of Hanson and Co. Matt and his team were immaculate and we were so happy with the work they produced. We had a small renovation project and they worked to our exact specifications. They are perfectionists and communicate closely to help achieve what you need. We?ve finally found a builder / decorator that we now know and trust! Thank you Matt and team!!!

Recommend Matthew and his team, they restored and repaired outside masonry that was in a very sorry state.

Its now looks beautiful and makes me feel proud. Work was quick and reasonable, will definitely have them back

for future works. Highly recommended.

I would like to recommend Matt and his team from Hanson and Co and not for the first time either! Matt has previously done a full house refurbishment project for us which we were delighted with and more recently we have had new bathrooms created and fitted beautifully. Matt and his team really listened to what we wanted to achieve. The project was completed on time and to the specification we were aiming for ? brilliant!

Matthew? and his team have been doing some major work on our building. He has refitted my bathroom and completed some painting internally and on the exterior of our building.

He is very professional when providing quotes and is competitive in price. The work done by his builders/decorators is of very high quality and care was taken to ensure we were happy with the end result.

The building they worked on is a large house with five flats and all the flat owners are impressed with the result. I have even had positive comments from neighbours in the street. I would highly recommend Matthew and his team.

    • Yes, because of course there were no violent robberies in the olden days. Pretty much no crime happened at all I believe through the entire Victorian era.
    • Hi all, Im a Southwark council leaseholder and live downstairs in a ground floor flat, there is one flat above me, it's a house with individual front doors leading from the street into the shared pathway. My neighbour told me he has had a ring doorbell installed, no discussion as to how I would feel being on camera everytime I go in and out or in my front garden. I was told it's only for deliveries and doesn't record and only activates when pressed, however I don't know this and I feel really uncomfortable everytime I'm out in garden or on doorstep talking to people. Everytime I walk in/out, it lights up and in the eve it has a  infra red  light. Now I've read up that as he said its only for deliveries, he could set it so it only activates when pressed, however it activates with its motion sensor. Had he said to me about getting it installed, I could have had the opportunity to ask about it recording etc but nothing except it's being installed and when I arrived home it was there. I don't like being horrible to people however I feel I have not been considered in his decision and I feel very uncomfortable as, some times I have to stand on doorstep to get signal for my mobile and I really don't like the idea of being watched and listened to. Has anyone got any advice as I'm beginning to get angry as I've asked about it once and was told it only activates when pressed. I believe this is not true. I know southwark council say you need to ask permission to make sure the neighbours are OK with it, I don't really want to go down that road but I don't know how to approach the subject again. They also put a shed approx 3 foot from my back room window, these places are built so my window faces their rear garden and there upstairs window  faces mine. They said it's there temporarily, that was over a year ago and it does affect the light, plus I'm hoping to sell up soon and the view from window is mainly a dark brown shed. When I've mentioned this, I was told they have no where else to put it, whereas originally they said its only temporary, Also the floorboards above are bare and I get woke early morning and at night, the thudding is so bad my light shakes and window rattles, so I mentioned this and asked if they have rugs, I was told when they get the boards re sanded they will get rugs, I should have asked if they could get rugs and just take them up when boards being done, which I would have done had it been me living above someone, their attitude was I can just put up with it until they are ready. so they had the floor boards done, and the workmen was hammering screws, yes screws, in the floorboards, I spoke to workmen to ask how much longer and they said yes, are using screws to make less noise! I could hear the cordless screwdriver, not an issue but for every screw there were at least 8 whacks, the owners had gone out to avoid the noise  so I  spoke to workmen as the noise was unbearable, the sanding, not an issue at all, people need to get things done to their home and I'm fine that on occasions there will be temporary noise. now I have a nice crack on my bedroom ceiling, I mentioned this to owner but no response, he said there were alot of loose floorboards and it will be much better now, not so noisy, as though I don't know the difference between squeaking floor boards and thudding, and nothing was mentioned re the crack or that they now have rugs, which if it were me, I'd be trying to resolve the issue so we can get on with feeling happy in our homes. so I'm feeling it's a total lack of consideration. these places are old and Edwardian and I've lived here over 40 years, had 4 different neighbours and it's only now the noise of thudding is really bad and the people before had floorboards but nothing like this. As you can probably tell I'm really wound up and I don't want to end up exploding at them, I've always got on with neighbours and always said if there's a problem with my dog, pls let me know, always tell me, however I feel it's got to the point where I say something and I'm fobbed off. I know I should tell them but I'm angry, perhaps I should write them a letter. Any suggestions greatly appreciated and thank you for reading my rant.
    • Sadly, the price we now all pay for becoming a soft apologetic society.
    • Exactly the same thing happened to me a few years back; they were after my Brompton. Luckily there were only 3 of them so I managed to get away and got a woman to call the police, then they backed off, but not after having hit me in the back of the head first. Police said next time just give them what they want, but I sure as hell wasn't just going to hand over my bike to them!
