This moved to Camberwell Leisure Centre in Artichoke Place (SE5 8TS) at least a month ago now. I shall soon stop seeing the need to keep reminding everyone. The new venue is friendly, hospitable and (as a sign of that) has a cafe. Our guys will be indoors if it's raining, as it seems to do all the time now, and outside, if outside is attractive.

This is a drop-in, not a course. What gets taught depends on what the punters (you) bring in. The guys will help you fix whatever it is and show you how it's done. If you know, or suspect, that you may need parts then it's probably a good idea to bring them with you. The nearest bike shop, that I'm aware of, is Sea Bass in Camberwell Church Street (SE5 8QZ) and that shuts at 7pm.

It's all free and everyone is welcome. The guys are house-trained and personable. They operate under the wing of Southwark Cyclists and we are the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign. Our website is here: https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk. The event page for this is here: https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/events/free-bike-maintenance-with-hands-on-tuition-7/. The LCC's website is here: https://lcc.org.uk/?ref=nav. Our email is [email protected], twitter is faster @southwarkcycle and or text me on 07842 640 207 and I will try to assist.

    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
    • Yes, but I want to know where he stands on all this stuff now. My feeling is it won't be any different from Labour?
