112 dulwich village dental surgery beware

Following more than few phone calls to local dentist I have found an appointment with

Katherine

At 112 Dulwich village

Over the phone I've asked a nurse how much would it cost to extract a tooth ...

Nurse said she didn't know

(First alarm bell )

I've received a phone call from the "surgeon"

Who assured me that the extraction will take place there (As I was in serious pain)

This is when I found out the cost - ?65 per visit

(Second alarm bell As I have specifically asked if she will extract the bad tooth twice before And she said yes unless there is complication so fair play I said ok)

Came in

Sat down in the chair

And been told that I need to stop smoking

And brush my teeth

(I have not got a single filling or a bad tooth at the age of 26)

She then said that she will brush my teeth and give me some spooky unprnouncable solution to help ease the pain while she will refer me to the dentist

Will help

(Wtf - Strike 3)

...

I wore my confused face for a moment before I realised that I was offered a cosmetic procedure and lesson of brushing instead of what I actually booked my appointment for ...

I did say that I've asked her to remove my tooth

she then said that she will clean them up for me and show me how to do it

(so I will not have trouble in the future)

Then she will refer me to a (REAL) dentist

Who will assess me

(What ?!!!

At ?65 i get my my teeth cleaned and get to know who can help ?!

I know who can

A dentist

I though that dental surgery is actually a place where I can find a dentist not a tooth brush instructor)

I HAVE ASKED

can you just pull out that tooth

As we agreed over the phone as im in pain !

She then said she doesn't know how to do extraction and yet asked for ?65 so I can come

And be hustled by someone who is pretending to be qualified but it isn't

"Dental surgery" what does it mean ?

Had it done elsewhere

1 injection

No Bullshit

10 min

No pain

?40

Done !

Avoid

Avoid

Avoid 112 dulwich village dental surgery

20 MIN ALL TOGETHER

WHERE 30MIN LATER AT 112 DULWICH VILLAGE

Long story short

Hi do you take new patients ?

-Yes

It's an emergency I need my back tooth extracted, can you help ?

-Yes

How much ?

-?65

Ok, when ?

-today 4.15

Came Sat down been charged ?65 for extraction that she didn't know how to do ...

Why say yes ?

Why invite me over?

Why say I do it?

Why charge if I can't do it?

Really

We are not fools

Obviously not all of us

I'm not

I've asked for extraction

Not a hygenist

    • Thanks for the response and to some who PM’d me. I’m now included on the Patient Participation Group (meeting next in Dec) so I’m going to feed back the comments here, good and bad. Update today to PPG members is that, as some of you have said, there is a new contact in place with GP practices with effect from 1 Oct. That appears to be the driver for some of the changes we’ve seen at The Gardens. From the responses here, though, patients might be getting an inconsistent message from the Surgery; I was definitely told that appointments must be made through the app, and only the app. It was only when I expressed concern that a strictly online service would not be suitable for all, that I was told by the receptionist that she could complete the request for me (or others if needed). Even then, then patients would need to await a text from the Practice. Perhaps we are just teething problems with the new provision…Happy to bring any and all comments to the PPG meeting (although I’m aware that the most digitally-excluded people probably aren’t on EDF!) Thanks folks.

    • Went to a fireworks display maybe 20 years ago at the Crystal Palace, it wasn't bonfire night, can't remember why it was being held, Capital Radio were there. There were people hanging from a crane, classical music, and quiet fireworks,  It was lovely, still dramatic with the colours but no loud bangs. Not sure why this hasn't become the norm.
