We're renovating our house so we need a quick sale of our lovely farmhouse extending dining table with chairs and coffee table.

They were bought together just 1 year ago from a boutique furniture maker in Oxford. We paid ?925 for the set.

We're so sad to see these items go but we need to re-arrange our house due to our expanding family (2 under 2)!

All items are solid wood.

With the body painted in a lovely mid-grey, similar to Elephant's breath from Farrow and Ball.

You can see from the pictures that the tops of the table, coffee table and chairs are in the natural dark wood which has a semi-matte satin varnish to show the beauty of the wood grain yet be durable at the same time.

Table:

Extends to seats 6-8 people

The lever to extend the table is housed underneath the table by a simple hook. It takes just seconds to extend.

We're selling the 4 chairs. If you want more chairs then it will be easy to colour match the grey paint or you could get natural wood chairs. Very easy to do.

Table dimensions:

90cm width x 180cm length unextended

90cm width x 220cm length extended

78cm height

The top of the table comes off from the table legs so you can easily transport.

Coffee table:

2 x drawers which open either side

Storage area under the drawers

120cm length x 60cm width x 50cm height

Let me know if you have any questions. You're welcome to pop round to take a look. I also have some more pics that I can send via whatsapp.

My number is 07885 265 252 to arrange.

Pick up ideally needs to be between Sunday 21st - Wednesday 25th Sept though we can be flexible by a few days.

We're looking to sell everything together for ?450.

Open to reasonable offers.

Sold as seen. Cash on collection.

Thanks

Rachael

    • But all those examples sell a wide variety of things,  and mostly they are well spread out along Lordship Lane. These two shops both sell one very specific thing, albeit in different flavours, and are just across the road from each other. I don't think you can compare the distribution of shops in Roman times to the distribution of shops in Lordship Lane in the twenty first century. Well, you can, but it doesn't feel very appropriate. Haa anybody asked the first shop how they feel? Are they happy about the "healthy competition" ?
    • ED is included in the 17 August closure set (or just possibly 15 August, depending on which part of the page you trust more) listed at https://metro.co.uk/2025/07/25/full-list-25-poundland-stores-confirmed-close-august-23753048/. Here incidentally are some snippets from their annual reports, at https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02495645/filing-history. 2022: " during the period we opened 41 stores and closed 43 loss-making/under-performing stores.  At the period-end we were trading from 821 stores in the UK, IoM and ROI. ... "We renogotiated 82 leases in the year, saving on average 45% versus the prior lease agreement..." 2023: "We also continued to improve our market footprint through sourcing better store locations, opening 53 and closing 51 stores during the year." 2024:  "The ex-Wilco stores acquired in the prior year have formed a core part of this strategy to expand our store network.  We favour quality over quantity and during the period we opened 84 stores and closed 71 loss-making/under-performing ones."
    • Ha! After I posted this, I thought of lots more examples. Screwfix and the hardware store? Mrs Robinson and Jumping Bean? Chemists, plant shops, hairdressers...  the list goes on... it's good to have healthy competition  Ooooh! Two cheese shops
