fridge freezer quezzie

When you impatiently stick a knife (as you are told not to) through the inside of a freezer a horrendous stinking gas (freon)

nearly poisons you to death and the machine is killed. Worse if its a fridge freezer.(like ours. Tall thing.) Seems it has to be 'properly disposed of'. It wasnt me! ok? I like watching them defrost. I dont mind time going slowly. But there was some hacking and I wondered if anyone knew of 'pro' Freezer picker uppers. that also will help to get the thing out of a kitchen unit. Its a faff.

Any ideas? Local? Is this thread dead in the water? Thing is we need to do this quick. Kids to feed blah.

if you can stick it in the car, take it to Vale St dump - there's a corner for dead fridge-freezers - otherwise, call Southwark Council to come and collect it - oh and Zephyr's flogging a fridge-freezer for ?40 over in Wanted!

I called Southwark council and they collected my dead fridge freezer (free of charge). I did have to wait about a week for collection though.
