Recommendation for childminder - Lorna

We?ve been fortunate enough to have Lorna looking after our Son for the last 1.5 years, her care of him and their bond has made our decision to move from East Dulwich a really difficult one to make.

He settled in with her incredibly well right from the off - when looking for an appropriate setting for Dylan our main driver was to find someone that would care for him as he was their own, with Lorna we got that and so much more! She has an amazing energy and is truly devoted to the children in her care.

The setting Lorna has created in her home is welcoming and filled with love, laughter, music and fun, she has lots of age appropriate toys, a great outside space and gets out and about daily, our baby boy has blossomed into an amazingly happy and content little person in her care. From her network of other childminders that she meets up with he has a with a wide range of playmates, he looks up to and learns from the older children and has learnt gentleness and care around the younger.

His days with Lorna are filled with fun, laughter and lots of song, she provides a balanced and varied diet of home cooked food and dealing with our boys dairy allergy hasn't phased her in the slightest.

We have regular catch ups with Lorna and appreciate the ideas and advice received around his development, we?re really sorry to say goodbye to Lorna and know that our family is going to miss her greatly.

    • It’s probably best described as Tudorbethan. It displays a rather twee, rose tinted yearning for a lost England that never really existed. Much like many posters on this forum.
    • That house it almost literally the polar opposite of Art Deco style.
    • Our first 'Double Bubble' of the festive season, pile on those points as well as the pounds.  Week 13 fixtures...   Saturday 29th November Brentford v Burnley Manchester City v Leeds United Sunderland v AFC Bournemouth Everton v Newcastle United Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham   Sunday 30th November Crystal Palace v Manchester United Aston Villa v Wolverhampton Wanderers Nottingham Forest v Brighton & Hove Albion West Ham United v Liverpool Chelsea v Arsenal   Tuesday 2nd December AFC Bournemouth v Everton Fulham v Manchester City Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur   Wednesday 3rd December Arsenal v Brentford Brighton & Hove Albion v Aston Villa Burnley v Crystal Palace Wolverhampton Wanderers v Nottingham Forest Leeds United v Chelsea Liverpool v Sunderland   Thursday 4th December Manchester United v West Ham United
    • It's definitely not Art Deco style, regardless of when it was built otherwise all houses built in the 1920s could be described as Art Deco.  The estate agent's blurb desribes it as being built about 1914 in the style of Lutyens whose work has been described as being in the Arts and Crafts style with a heavy Tudor influence.
