street parties????

wondering if there are any near by street parties for me to take my children to today i live on mundania road and don't drive so don't want to walk to far in this weather. any ideas people coz i have looked all over the net and can't seem to find anything :( but to be fair my brain is in over drive as my kids are doing my head in lol

Even though the Bellenden Big lunch was cancelled, the traders on Bellenden Road are still doing stuff. There is a marquee outside Review Books I know so you could wander down there.

There is a party on Piermont Green (next to the Herne Tavern), not sure if you can just turn up and join in though!?

I always thought that street parties were organised by the residents of that street and everyone made /donated food.

I remember someone that I knew turned up at the CP Rd street party a couple of years ago and there were loads of complaints that he lived on anothe street 15 mins walk away and that he went round collecting food to eat.

No one minds how far you come provided you bring your own contribution and share it. It's free-loaders who aren't welcome.
