Hello!

We are 2 families looking for a shared after school nanny for a boy and girl both aged 4.5 (they?re good friends). You'd be available for school pick up from The Belham on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 15.15, and we'd need you to take both children to one of our homes to have a snack, play, then prepare and supervise dinner, finishing at 18.00 (or thereabouts). Over time this may evolve next term to include taking them to a club (eg football) one afternoon a week. After-school collection is required for term-time. Ideally you?d also be able to look after them some Wednesdays and Thursdays in school holidays (but not essential).

No need to drive, both our homes are under 10 minutes walk from the school.

Please PM with your CV to express interest.

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
    • Some of us oldies would associate Grove with the old Grove Vale School (which I went to in the 1950s)
