Where to put 'Old Unusable clothes (Rags) old towels & textiles.'

Can they be put in Green Bin. ?

If so, can / should they be bagged up and kept separate from other household waste ?

The big hospice shop will take these.

Bag them up and label them "rags".

There's a clothing/shoes recycling unit on the corner shop side of the Upland Rd/Hindmans Rd junction...

H&m will take it & give you a ?5 voucher to be used on any shop over ?25

Please don't put it in the green bin, it will just go to landfill, not recycling.

Oh no there isn't! Well not yesterday anyway. When did you last notice it DR? I had a big bag to dispose of. Maybe it was taken away to be emptied, if that's what they do?

It was there just a week or so ago.

However a woman appeared to be emptying it, as she was sorting through a huge pile of clothes on the pavement in front of it.

I would have investigated, but I was in a hurry.

I saw and used it as recently as Monday just gone and planned to take more clothing there. Interesting its just disappeared into thin air...

Ah feck. I've been spouting misinformation. I've never memorised which is Upland and which is Underhill. Apologies DR.

My excuse is I need more time with street names, as I've only lived here for 30 years.
