My mum is coming to stay to do some childcare for my sister. But she needs a wash and blow dry for a formal "do" that's happening while she's here. Could anyone recommend a good mobile hairdresser who is likely to be OK working round small children, and not be too whacky styling wise? I would have suggested Hairy Jayne but she no longer does home visits.

I'm really looking for recommedations from happy customers rather than replies from hairdressers.

Many thanks in advance!

Jen is great - she's been doing my hair since at least 2007 when I was pregnant with Number 2, and has worked around my older child who was then 3 going on 4, plus my pregnancy, then newborn, toddler, now bossy 3.5 year old who tries to persuade Jen to let her help do my hair, not to mention asking 100 questions about what she's doing, why she's doing it etc. etc. etc.!

She does cut, colour and drying and is flexible on timings etc. Her number is 07932 894335

Yes, I do! There's a mum on this forum ('NZ Emma') who is a hairdresser of small children. I was really pleased with my haircut by her. She works some evenings too which means the kids don't have to be around, but she said she does a lot of cuts where the kids are around. Her number is 07990 528383.
Georgina does my hair, she is very bubbly and chatty and isn't fazed by anything. Very skilled at cutting and blow drying in particular, and styles anyone from children to old people. I've got an 18 month old and she's brilliant with her. Her number is 07738 877139.
I recommend Victoria - search for her thread "For a beautiful haircut in your home" by EDF Name "Victoria C." She gives a great cut, is reasonably priced, and very skillfully gave my son his first haircut when he was 2 while he was sitting on my lap.

    • You don't need a gym to lose 10kg. Get a set of dumbbells and maybe a resistance band, find a HIIT channel you like on youtube and workout in your room, eat clean and go out every day. £115/mo is ridiculous. I thought they were supposed to be about £20 to £30 and most people give up come February anyway.
    • Point taken..I go 3-4 times a week and have done every week for several years however £115 a month is still a lot of money for many people (myself included) for a 'non essential' One can if one wishes excersise by running or Cycling, swimming once in a while. Gym membership IS a luxury...
    • Tawny owls are hooting in Dawsons Heights very near me. But very elusive birds. Sadly now on the amber list.  I have heard the owls every night for the past couple of weeks  It is good to know they are here. They are quite loud so I think they are very near. I have never seen an owl in the wild before and wish I  could  see them.
