We are excited to announce that Chris McCabe, poet and librarian at the National Poetry Library, will be joining us at 7PM on Wednesday 13th November for an evening celebrating the beautiful and vital new anthology 'Poems from the Edge of Extinction'.

The unique lyricism of hundreds of the world?s languages is rapidly dying out and, in this transcendent collection, Chris gathers together fifty masterly poems in tongues that may soon be silenced. From Assyrian to Yiddish, 'Poems from the Edge of Extinction' resounds with both joyous celebration and urgent warning.

Tickets are ?3, redeemable off the cost of the book.

    • They’ve backed away from pretending they produce their own goods recently. That claim sat at the centre of the misdirection for years. They’ve now accepted they can’t sustain it, so they’re beginning to highlight the local independent bakeries whose products they actually sell. The business is essentially a courier model running on a slim margin.
    • Another sparrow hawk visor to our cherry tree at the weekend.  Our robin survived, but we may be a sparrow down.     any thoughts on bird feeders & bird baths with the current bird flu?  I try to wash out the bird bath most days when at home, but not on the 3 days in a row that I’m in the office & the bird feeders rather less regularly. Would it be better not to have at all (as my partner thinks)?
    • OOOPS. My daughter just had to pay a five pound fine. I hadn't put a stamp on it. I remember wondering whether to use a  first or second class stamp,  and clearly when I posted it I still hadn't decided (but sadly didn't notice). I feel really bad for suspecting a postie might have  opened it.  Sorry posties.
