Hello! I am looking for parents expecting in the next 3 months or have a new born less than 4 weeks, who might be interested in participating in an infant observation.

My name is Clara and I am studying a masters course in Psychotherapy and Human Development with Birkbeck University. A central part of my course is to observe an infant-parent in their home environment from birth. The aim is for me to learn, through close attention and quiet observation, how babies develop and begin to form relationships. This will provide the foundation for my future goal of becoming a child psychotherapist. Observations would be for one hour a week at a mutually agreed time to suit you. This would last for 2 years, excluding holidays and can include breaks if needed.

Mothers who have taken part in previous observations have found this to be an enriching and rewarding experience, which encouraged them to notice details and developing abilities in their baby. Weekly visits will be unobtrusive and can provide a feeling of structure, containment and a friendly face. You can receive written feedback at the end of the observation. I am local to the area so can be flexible to suit your needs and routine.

If this is something you are interested in helping with, or think someone you know might be, then I would be more than happy to talk it through. I have a current DBS and can provide a letter from my university with further details. You can reach me at [email protected], or via this thread. Thank you for your time :-)

    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
    • I would also like to add my recommendation for James.  I had taken four names of electricians from the forum - in the order I had read the reviews.  First three no response - even days later. I phoned James this morning. He answered, gave me a time, stuck to it, messaged again 15 mins before arrival.  He fixed my problem on the spot.  Sensible charge out fee. Perfect service.
