Hi,

Couldn't think of where else to post this, so I thought I would do it here.

I am looking for someone to go cycling with - a lonely hearts type ad I guess you could say!

I am not a serious cyclist but would really like to cycle 5-10 miles a day if I can but doing it on your own is never the same to keep fit and healthy.

I live just off Lordship Lane and would do any kind of cycling round here - hills, flats, etc. Just really want to find someone so that I don't have to do it on my own.

Hopefully I can find some like minded people on here!

Sam

There was an article in the guardian the other week about cycling buddies. It was on the bike blog, I think. It's a website where people (girl or boy) can sign up and find people in their local area who want to cycle.

Also take a look at the Project London Health posts in What's On. Last summer there were quite a few Sunday rides of various lengths that were a lot of fun. Been slightly swamped this year so far so not sure if they are still happening.

another recommendation for McCabe's Sunday cycling group, in the What's On section http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?6,773118,922602,page=3#msg-922602

    • Can't remember where I got them, online somewhere recommended by my daughter, but they are cloth and brightly coloured and fit quite tightly around my nose and mouth. I've still got a stock of them. Tissues inside might help a bit,  but if you have a very runny nose you basically need to keep removing the mask to blow it. Luckily I have only had to go out once when I've had  a bad cold. Sorry, probably too much information.
    • To be fair to Royalists, it didn't work out too well for anyone last time we canned the monarchy. I'd imagine quite a few French, Germans, Spanish, Portuguese and Russians had second thoughts after they' found out what you get in their place - those really didn't work out well. Maybe elected heads of state only work well where there's never been a monarchy. The countries I'd aspire to - the Scandinavian states, The Netherlands - have slimmed down monarchies, and that looks like the way we're moving. I'd take that and abolition of an unelected upper house, most particularly the hereditary element of it, as a decent starting point.
    • If you’ve got a cold then put some tissues inside the mask.  What kind of mask(s) do you have, carry, wear?
    • Agree! Its been there years and the team are knowlegable and friendly. Its a real loss to South London. @TWB Cat Sitter I have posted a link to your post on the SE23.com forum. Hopefully it helps.
