MAC support - recovering files

Hi - I have a really old Apple-laptop with sentimental but valuable videos I created when young (hehe). Anyway, the issue is that the keyboard isn't working and I am unable to log-in and recover those. On Apple store, main advise is buy a keyboard, which doesn't make sense (to me) as not longer using that brand or laptop.

is there an IT shop/support in ED or around to help? I just need to log-in and upload the videos to the cloud

Sorry if this isn't what you mean, but can't you just buy a cheap keyboard? Any old keyboard should just plug into any laptop? I use a separate keyboard when I'm using my laptop on my desk.
