Request for tents - 34th Camberwell Scouts

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

The 34th Camberwell Scout troop based on Peckham Rye has recently grown and we currently need some more tents for our camping activities. Rather than fundraise to buy brand new ones, we wondered if in this era of reusing and recycling, whether anyone might have an old tent that they are no longer using that they would be willing to donate to a good cause. Ideally we would need a three or four person tent in good or reasonable condition. We can always waterproof it etc.

Please pm me if you are able to help.

Many thanks.

Andrew

Hi all,

Just wanted to say a big thanks to the Forumites who have been so generous with their old tent donations. we still need a couple of more so if anyone has an old tent in good condition (3-4 man ideal) that they no longer use and is just sitting there, we can happily give it a new home for our rapidly growing Scout, Cub and Beaver groups.

I should say that any other camping donations would be gratefully received too, especially camping tables and stools!

Many thanks - Andrew - 34th Camberwell Scout Group

Local authorities of all political persuasions across England are facing tough times, several have gone into administration: Birmingham, Woking, Thurrock, Croydon, Slough, Northamptonshire, and Nottingham and 11 are on bailouts.   Covid will not have helped.  Some will have made some poor investment decisions in the past eg Thurrock and Woking;  Some total mismanagement and one has been hit by historical debt through not paying their workers fairly (Brum).   Reform promise simple solutions to cutting spending.  Not that easy is it Nige?
