SAVE THE DATE ? Monday 16th March 12pm

East Dulwich Parents Book Club is back!

We?re a child-friendly book club for parents in and around East Dulwich. We aim to meet monthly and always keen to have new members. Bring your little one along, stay for a drink and some lunch and discuss a book. It?s a lovely way to meet other parents and have a bit of grown-up time too!

After a several month break, we will be restarting book club on Monday 16th March. We have a new venue ? The Cherry Tree, near East Dulwich Station. They have a great space with plenty of room for buggies, and lots of highchairs. The table will be available from 11:30am.

This month?s book is: Olive Kitteridge, by Elizabeth Strout, which won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. The author has recently released a sequel, Olive, Again.

East Dulwich Parents Book Club

This Monday, 16th March at 12pm, The Cherry Tree.

Book - Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout.

Please come along whether you?ve read all, some or none of the book. We?re a friendly bunch trying to get book club back up & running again - new members very welcome!

Dear all,

I?m afraid that we need to cancel today?s Book Club.

We?re so sorry to cancel at the last minute as we were so looking forward to it but things have happened outside of our control such that we?re no longer able to attend.

We?re planning to relaunch in a few months once the worst of the Coronavirus outbreak is behind us.

I hope people enjoyed the book and stay well.

Helena x

    • Gosh, calm down.. How about not getting so heated, and not eat for 24 hours with sips of water? Try it and you may, just may understand, starvation, no water. No meds at all even if you need them - hasten to add, don’t do it at all if you are medically dependent. In fact, why doesn’t ED - do this for half a day - say in Oct, when everyone has come back from enjoying their, hols, new term starting and as a community, we could all be 1.? Before, November, fireworks, etc.
    • Many thanks I have sent them a message
    • Stop foreign aid spend and re-direct those funds to improve the lives of UK citizens.  People shouldn't have to rely on charities and food banks, their is enough food wasted in this country already which could be re-directed.  Let their own Govts feed them, why does the UK have to do it, how about other nations contributing.  Well if aid can't reach them, how are they supposed to be fed if as you say food parcels being dropped from planes doesn't work.  Lets sort out this country first and put UK citizens first for a change.
    • Well that really is not Christian Spirit at all - we all live in this world and yes, totally agree that it would be wonderful to have no conflict in the world but that is not possible. Yes we have people in need of food  in this country but overall enough charities and organisation in the west to help. We are talking about thousands of people who are starving - not just going hungry - a huge difference would you not agree ? Aid can’t reach people - for whatever conflict and don’t think people dropping parcels, boxes etc from planes would be the answer either.
