Voodoo Zobop full suspension mountain bike - size large - with upgrades (more photos available)

MBR magazine - The Zobop had us shredding descents every bit as fast as we would on bikes costing considerably more money 9/10. Full review online at MBR.

This is my much loved Voodoo Zobop. I've used this bike in the French Alps and at bike parks including Bike Park Wales - with much success.

UPGRADES

Dropper post: 120mm Brand X dropper post, routed and cable tied neatly on down tube. This is a must for any mountain bike. The unit was ?100 and works perfectly.

Pedals: Nukeproof matte finish. Huge platform for people who want control and confidence on the trails. Nukeproof = bomb proof

Front tire: Maxxis Minion DHF (Downhill Front) 3C. This is the tire this bike needs. Gives incredible front-end feel and confidence, with big nobbles and Maxxis' softest grippiest compound.

Grips: ODI double locking grips - again to keep you secure on the bike.

Rear shock: Upgraded Suntour Duair offering plush 140mm travel

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

Front suspension: Rock Shox Sector 140mm. This is a great fork from the industry leader, that tracks the ground brilliantly.

This bike lives inside, so no corrosion to speak of.

    • Hello! We are relocating abroad and so will be withdrawing our two children (ages 4 and 6) from St Dunstan’s College (Catford). If any family is considering enrolling children of a similar age, now would be an excellent opportunity—we’re required to pay full‑term fees unless the places are taken. Please get in touch if you’re interested or know someone who might be. Thank you!

    • Thanks for your reply. I’ve subscribed to Ancestry a few times in the past but felt I wasn’t using it enough to warrant keeping up the subscription.
    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
