you mean me Sean or seanmlow Sean?

I can, with no little pleasure and a side-order of reassurance, tell you it wasn't me. I was in Fleet St all day today

But I had someone else ask me if I was in the Gowlett last week when I wasn't so somebody is going around very similar to me

beware or imitators!

All that said, you'll know where to find me later this evening..:)-D

A customer there?

I always assumed that place was owned by the guy who used to sell militaria, second hand matchbox cars, arrow flints and other weirdness on Northcross road opposite the joke shop 30 years ago and was his hobby - a military shop without the hassle of actually having to serve customers :))

Maybe Sean is gonna go postal @ Foxtons or enemys of Green and blue? >:D<

Now this is one of the reasons that I joined this MB. Local knowledge about practical everyday items that we all can use. And they're showing Red Dawn as well, one of my faves. The pluck those kids showed in dealing with, what can only be described as enemies of their state, well it brought a lump to mine durng the screening that's all I can say.

Thanks for the review Sean. Maybe I'll see you there tomorrow, I'm due a new assault catapult.

Sad to hear about the owner of that shop on Northcross, he was an interesting guy and it was always fun haggling over the price of his toys.

Speaking of Shrunken Heads, wasn't that the title of a great little indie horror flick with the blonde guy from Bill n Tedd?

It might be Sensei, but it's a reference to the latest stonking album release from the legendary Ian Hunter when it's anywhere in my vicinity.

Regards

    • Labour's latest Rye Lane Ward newsletter is now saying that demolition in the square will start this summer and that the wider station upgrade is expected to be signed off this year - as explained above, sadly wrong on both counts. It describes the renovation of adjacent buildings on Blenheim Grove as "successful", despite having lain empty for a couple of years, longer than the actual renovation works, before saying "the Council is hopeful [it] will see its first new occupants move in to this year". Cue desperate attempt to get at least one in before end of financial year? As for the other topic, in "November 2023, faced with a huge increase in graffiti across the borough, Labour-run Southwark council took action". Nice turn of phrase eh? Rather, after community pressure regarding years of inaction by said Labour-run council, it's finally started to do a little bit, a little late. Surely there would be more chance of resolving issues if our council could for once be part of an honest, informed discussion?

    • Just wanted to recommend Roger from Critter Solutions Pest Control if anyone’s dealing with mice or other unwanted guests. We had a sudden issue with mice in our home's kitchen and after calling around, these guys were by far the most responsive and professional. Roger arrived on time, was really friendly, and took the time to explain what he was doing and why. He did a full inspection and sealed up some access points we hadn’t even noticed. Since his treatment we haven’t seen or heard anything since. What I appreciated most was that it didn’t feel like a rushed job or a hard sell – just honest advice and thorough work. All backed with a guarantee.  Would definitely use them again (hopefully won’t need to!) and thought I’d share in case anyone local is looking.
    • Another recommendation for Jeremiah! He's cleaned our windows for a couple of years now and is always reliable, friendly and does a great job
